RULES OF REGISTRATION Revised February 2001 I. GENERAL CONFORMATION REQUIREMENTS The general conformation of the Mountain Pleasure Horse is described in the bylaws of the Mountain Pleasure Horse Association. The Mountain Pleasure Horse Association does not consider color to be a criteria for quality. Therefore any color of horse is acceptable provided it meets all of the other requirements for registration. (i.e. No restrictions on white markings.) II. FOALS Any offspring resulting from the mating of a registered Stallion and a registered Mare shall be eligible for permanent registration provided that parentage is confirmed by bloodtyping. A. STALLION SERVICE CERTIFICATES. The stallion manager, upon request by the mare’s owner, complete a Stallion Service Certificate. The stallion manager shall mail one copy of the stallion service certificate to the Mountain Pleasure Horse Association Registrar no later than the end of the year in which the mare was bred and shall provide one copy of the stallion service certificate to the owner of the mare. The stallion owner or manager should retain one copy of the stallion service certificate for his/her records, FOAL REGISTRATION: (Upon submission of the following)
The foal registration application should be completed by March 1st of the year following the birth of the foal. The foal registration application may be completed after that point, but penalty fees will be added to the registration charges (see "Fees" section). III. FEES MEMBERSHIP (All memberships will

Change Form IV. NAMING. Names shall be no longer than 30 characters. Spaces and punctuation marks are included in the count of 30 characters. There will be no duplicate names. If a duplicate name arises in the ancestry of registered Mountain Pleasure Horses, those names will affixed with Roman Numerals to denote different horses. V. REGISTRATION PAPERS At the time of transferring ownership of a Mountain Pleasure Horse, the seller will complete and submit the transfer form along with the proper fee and the registration papers to the registry. After the registry has recorded the transfer the new owner will receive the transferred registration papers. Registration numbers will be shown on the registration paper pedigree for all registered Mountain Pleasure Horse Association horses appearing in the pedigree of a registered Mountain Pleasure Horse. Otherwise, the designation 'PNV' (which means "Parentage Not Verified" by bloodtyping) will appear in the space normally allocated for the Mountain Pleasure Horse Association registration number. Any discrepancies or disagreements regarding "PNV" parentage will be decided by majority vote of the Board of Directors. VI. GLOSSARY OF TERMS APPROVED: Animal has been accepted for permanent registration with the Mountain Pleasure Horse Association. BREEDER: The legal owner of the mare at the time of birth of the horse being registered. REGISTERED: Designation for a horse that has completed the Registration Process of the Mountain Pleasure Horse Association, and for which bloodtyping has been completed. STALLION MANAGER: Person legally authorized to sign stallion service certificates and submit stallion-breeding reports. YEARLING: Any animal after October I of the year following its birth, until October 1 of the second year following birth. Any circumstances not addressed in the above regulations will be decided by majority vote of the Board of Directors of the Mountain Pleasure Horse Association.
