Meeting called to order by Mike Spradlin at 7:03 PM  on January 24, 2006.

Board members present : Jerry Murphy, Mike Spradlin, Dave Spradlin, Johnnie Greene, and Gordon Rife.

Opened the counted ballots for election of board members , 50 ballots returned.

Breakdown of ballots:

Johnnie Greene- 43 votes

Mike Spradlin- 42 votes

Jerry Murphy- 43 votes

Richard Roe- 37 votes

Monty Hobbs- 41 votes

Election of new officers for 2006

Jerry Murphy made the motion for Mike Spradlin for President. Johnnie Greene second the motion, motion was passed.

Dave Spradlin made the motion for Johnnie Greene for Vice President, Jerry Murphy second the motion, motion was passed.

Jerry Murphy made the motion for Gordon Rife for Secretary, Dave Spradlin second the motion, motion was passed.

Gordon Rife made the motion for Jerry Murphy for Treasurer, Johnnie Greene second the motion, and motion was passed.

Jerry Murphy presented the Profit and Loss Report after review and discussion, Gordon Rife made the motion to accept , Dave Spradlin second the motion, motion was passed.

Dr. Cothurn has agreed to author a study about genetic variance on the Mountain Pleasure Horse and the Rocky Mountain Horse. The cost of the study is $5000. RMHA has agreed to pay $3500. of the cost . Jerry Murphy made the motion to have the MPHA pay the remaining $1500. Johnnie Greene second the motion, motion was passed.

Mike Spradlin presented a contract from UK to keep doing the blood typing and DNA. Johnnie Greene made the motion to renew contract with UK , Dave Spradlin second the motion, motion was passed.

Read a letter from the Independent Judges Association of Gaited Horses, held discussion on the letter, letter has been tabled until later date.

Jerry Murphy made the motion that the MPHA will not persue a High Points Show Program for the 2006 season , Dave Spradlin second the motion, and motion passed.

Mike Spradlin read a letter from Jim and Judy Doss pertaining to registration of a horse, letter was discussed and no action taken .

Gordon Rife gave update on Equine Affaire.  MPHA application has been accepted . As soon as stall reservation forms are available from Equine Affaire I will send them out to individuals whom contact me .
