Meeting called to order by President Gary Campbell at 7:15 PM

 

Board present:  Mike Spradlin, James Murrell, Gary Campbell, Jerry Murphy, Johnie Green, & Don Gabbard

 

Members present:  Becky Beal, Randy Beal, Kenneth Roberson, Adam Campbell, Hiram Combs, & Shirly Combs.

 

Randy and Becky Beal inquired about a 2 year old filly they were about to purchase.  They wanted to know if she was registered or could be registered.  Gary Campbell is to check on their inquiry and return a call to them.

 

Discussion about UK bloodtyping.  No one has been appointed to the vacant position, as we know.

 

James Murrell made a motion to accept the profit & loss statement.  Seconded by Johnie Green.

 

Jerry Murphy made a motion to accept new and renewed members.  Seconded by James Murrell.

 

There was a lenthy discussion about shows and prospecting for more shows.  Monte Hobbs was contacted by phone about making a call for inclusion in a Hazard/Perry County show.  Mike Spradlin is to check on a show in Olive Hill.  The Wolfe County show is be on May 15.  The World Show at Owingsville will be September 11.

 

Hiram Combs brought to the board some questions and concerns about late papers.  There was a lengthy discussion about the relevance of pictures in the registration process.  It was determined that the pictures were part of the rules of registration , and, therefore, were necessary.  The papers that were in question are ready, and will be mailed this week.

 

Shirlie Combs brought to the board a concern that the current registration application is confusing.  It was decided by the board that it could be confusing, and should be updated.  James Murrell made a motion to update the application.  Seconded by Don Gabbard.  Mike Spradlin is to bring an updated version to the May board meeting for approval.

 

Mike Spradlin submitted a quote to the board from Jim Hargrove Creative for the design and printing of the Mountain Pleasure Horse magazine.  There was a discussion about the details, and it was decided that this would be a great improvement in the marketing and promotion of the Mountain Pleasure Horse.  Don Gabbard made a motion to accept the bid from Jim Hargrove Creative.  Seconded by James Murrell.
